Microsoft to Supply Nvidia AI Chips to UAE in $15.2B Tech Expansion
Microsoft Corp. shares edged higher after securing U.S. approval to ship 60,000 Nvidia AI chips to the United Arab Emirates. The deal forms part of a $15.2 billion UAE technology investment where Microsoft will provide access to AI models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and its own platforms. The UAE's AI adoption rate ranks among the world's highest per capita.
The agreement follows the UAE's $1.4 trillion commitment to U.S. energy and AI projects—a staggering sum relative to its $540 billion GDP. Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba hailed the partnership as a 'Gold Standard' for securing AI infrastructure. Microsoft's stock had dipped 5% post-earnings despite beating Q3 estimates, but found modest support from this announcement during a pivotal week for tech equities.
